Cause
Picture becomes dark if subject is too
far away. Take picture within range of
flash.
When taking a picture of a person
against a dark background, such as a
night scene, the person may appear
dark if the flash does not reach the
background even with the correct
exposure. Set the shooting mode to
B to ensure both person and
background are clear. (p.55)
Lock focus on another object located
at same distance (press shutter
release button halfway), then aim at
target and press shutter release
button fully, or use Manual Focus
mode. (p.35)
Position subject in focus frame in
middle of LCD monitor. If the subject
is outside the focusing area, aim the
camera at the subject and lock the
focus (press shutter release button
halfway), then compose picture and
press the shutter release button fully.
Set focus mode to q or r. (p.75)
Normal pictures will be out of focus if
taken with focus mode set on q or
r.
Set to Auto or b (Flash On). (p.78)
Flash will not discharge in these
modes.
