Retighten the lock nut while holding rocker arm pivot

and torque to 10-14 N•m (7.4-10.3 lb. ft.).
Check valve clearance again after tightening lock nut.

9. Repeat steps 4 through 7, as needed, until clearance
is within specifications.
10. Reassemble the spark plug, cylinder head cover, and
gasket.

7.6 GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENT
Remove the fuel tank for access.

2. Loosen the nut on the governor arm pinch bolt (see
illustration below).

limiting screw on the governor stop to achieve 3600
rpm ± 150 rpm at idle.
8. To ensure the governor adjustment under load, add
an electrical load to the generator, then re-adjust the
limiting screw, if necessary, to achieve the rpm stan-
dard.
Idle Speed 3600 ± 150 rpm
Loaded Speed 3600 ± 100 rpm
