Bartacking

Stitch pattern to
be selected
Bartacking is used to reinforce part of seam that is likely to ravel.
* Bartacking length is determined by pressing reverse stitch button.
Maximum number of bartacking stitches is 20. When maximum
number of stitches is reached, machine will automatically stop and
travel back in opposite direction.
* In the case where buttonhole foot is not leveled at multi-layered
portion of fabric, use a filler cloth or cardboard.
Draw thread to side of

buttonhole foot.

Pass needle thread through and
under buttonhole foot.
When predetermined
position is reached, press

reverse stitch button.
Machine sews straight stitches until
sewing starting position is reached.
Then, machine automatically
returns while sewing zigzag stitches
until predetermined position is
reached.

Place fabric under

Machine stops after sewing bar

Example of application

Trousers
and skirts
Start machine with buttonhole

A press on start/stop button will cause
machine to start straight stitching.
To continuously sew bartacks of same length:
First bartacking length is stored in memory.
* Press start/stop button,
and machine will automati-
cally start, it will then
change sewing direction
when predetermined turn-
about point is reached and
return to the starting point.
* To change bartacking length that is stored in
memory, re-select pattern.
