Turn the Camera On

.1 Open the monitor and remove
the lens cap.
See "Opening and Adjusting the
Angle of the Monitor" (A5) for
more information.

.2 Press the power switch.
The monitor turns on.
To turn the camera off, press the
power switch again.

Lens Cap
At times when you are not shooting images, attach the lens cap to the lens
to protect it.

The Auto Off Function
If no operations are performed for a while, the monitor will turn off, the
camera will enter standby mode, and the power-on lamp will flash. If no
operations are performed for another 3 minutes, the camera will turn off
automatically.
While the camera is in standby mode, the monitor turns back on if you
perform any of the following operations:
- Press the power switch, shutter-release button, or c button.
- Rotate the mode dial.
- Open or close the monitor.
