Status Code Display Indications
Warning Indicators
This LCD Projector has a STATUS CODE Display which calls your
attention to problem conditions existing inside the LCD Projector.
The LCD Projector displays a Status Code Indication each time an
internal problem is detected.
If any of the following indications appear in the STATUS CODE
Display, immediately turn off the Main Power switch, and then see
the chart to determine a course of action.
Example:
If the total lamp operating time is over 1 900 hours, the status codes "L", "-", and "1" will be displayed in
sequence.

Note
• After taking appropriate action, allow the interior to cool thoroughly before switching on the power. A much longer
time may be required if the projector had attained an abnormally high internal temperature.
• The Lamp installed in the LCD Projector contains metallic material. When the Projector is turned off, the vibration
of moving it, etc. may cause the metallic material to shift and adhere to the polar terminals. In case the Lamp
cannot light up in this abnormal condition, the message, "P-2" will be displayed to alert you.
Problem
• Cooling fan malfunction.
• Misinstalled Air Filter Unit or
Lamp cover.
• Temperature Sensor mal-
function.
• Clogged air filter.
• Blocked air intake.
• The surrounding temperature
of the place of use may be
too high.

Ambient temperature is low.
• If the Lamp will not light after
turning on the main power 2
or 3 times, the Lamp may be
damaged.
• Light failure due to short in
Lamp.
• Abnormal temperature rise.
• Other causes.
• It is nearly time to replace
the Lamp Unit.
• The Lamp Unit must be
replaced.

Possible Solution
• Take the Projector to your nearest
Service Center.
• Properly install Air Filter Unit or Lamp
cover. (See pages 51,53-54.)
• Take the Projector to your nearest
Service Center.
• Clean the filter. (See page 51.)
• Relocate projector to a proper location.
• Place Projector so that surrounding
temperature is between 0 C (32 F)
and 40 C (104 F) and the humidity is
between 20 % and 80 % (with no
condensation.)
• Take the Projector to your nearest
Service Center.
•Refer to pages
53, 54
and carefully
remove the Lamp unit. Grasp the
handle and gently shake the Lamp,
then replace the Lamp unit. If problem
persists, take the Projector to your
nearest Service Center.
• Take the Projector to your nearest
