(g) "ABS" Warning Light
This light comes on when the "POWER"
switch is set at ON. If the anti−lock brake
system function of the VDIM (vehicle dy-
namics integrated management) is working
properly, the light goes off when the
"READY" light comes on. Thereafter, if the
function malfunctions, the light comes on
again.
When the "ABS" warning light is on and
the yellow brake system warning light is
on, the anti−lock brake system function
and the brake assist function of the VDIM
may not operate so that the wheel could
lock up during a sudden braking or brak-
ing on slippery road surfaces However,
the brake system still operates conven-
tionally.

If any of the following conditions
occurs, this indicates a malfunction
somewhere in the parts monitored by
the warning light system. Contact your
Toyota dealer as soon as possible to
service the vehicle.

The light does not come on when the
"POWER" switch is set at ON.
D
The light remains on when
"READY" light is on.
D
The light comes on while you are driv-
ing.
A warning light turning on briefly during
operation does not indicate a problem.
If the light comes on together with the red
brake system warning light, stop the ve-
hicle immediately. For details, see "(a)
Brake system warning light".
Either of the following conditions may
occur, but does not indicate the mal-
function:
D
The light may stay on for about 60
seconds after the hybrid system is
started. It is normal if the light goes off
after a while.
D
Depressing the brake pedal repeatedly
the may turn on the light. It is normal if
the light goes off after a few seconds.
CAUTION
If the "ABS" warning light remains on
together with the red brake system
warning light, stop your vehicle im-
mediately in a safe place and contact
your Toyota dealer.
In this case, not only the anti−lock
brake system function and brake as-
sist function will fail but also the ve-
hicle will become extremely unstable
during braking.
