To download a filter created as an ASCII file, without the presence of
Filter Builder:
Your system must be running either the TFTP or the FTP file transfer
daemon (server). The CoreBuilder 3500 performs a "get" operation
on the file to transfer it from the remote system.
The filter file must be placed in a directory that either you or the
CoreBuilder 3500 has permission to access. TFTP and FTP use different
permission mechanisms.
TFTP grants all outside systems permission to access files in its
defined home directory. See your system's TFTP documentation to
find out where the TFTP home is, then either copy the filter file to
that directory, or change home to point to the directory the file is
in. On most UNIX systems, TFTP's home directory is
Next, verify that the filter file has "world read" access.
FTP, through the CoreBuilder 3500, prompts you for a username
and password valid on the remote system. You are now "logged
in" as that user and have permission to access any file which that
user can access.
To download the filter:
1 Connect to the CoreBuilder 3500.
2 Use the
system fileTransfer
transfer.
3 Type:
bridge packetfilter load
option to set either FTP or TFTP file
/tftpboot.
