1.3 Licensing Requirements

Raymarine radios comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
and Industry Canada requirements that regulate marine VHF radio usage for the
US and Canada, respectively.
This information was current at the time this handbook was printed. Up-to-date
information, including licensing requirements, can be obtained on the FCC

FCC Notice
This device complies with Parts 15 and 80 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to
the conditions that this device does not cause harmful interference. Changes or
modifications to this equipment not expressly approved in writing by Raymarine,
Incorporated could violate compliance with FCC rules and void the operator's
authority to operate the equipment.
Station License
An FCC Ship Radio Station License and Call Sign are not required for most
recreational vessels travelling in US waters.
Operator License
An Operator License is not required to operate a VHF Marine Radio within US
territorial waters.
