    AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Product Description The Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor is used as an interface to American Dynamics switching systems. The 2083-02C allows for the use of SpeedDome LT, SpeedDome, SpeedDome Ultra, SpeedDome Optima, and SpeedDome Optima LT with an American Dynamics switch and control system.

    Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Application Notes For those installations that are upgrading to the AD2083-02C Code Distributor from versions AD2083-02B or earlier, the following list highlights the changes between these versions. • There are seven (7) dome-stored presets for the legacy domes: SpeedDome (Unicard), SpeedDome (Duo- Card), SpeedDome Ultra 1, and SpeedDome Ultra 2.

    Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Setup using DIP Switches The AD2083-02C is configured using four 8-position DIP switches (S1, S2, S3, and S4) located on the rear panel of the unit, and two 8-position DIP switches (S5 and S6) located on the main printed circuit board (PCB) inside the unit.

    Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Internal Setups – CAUTION – The following internal adjustments, requiring disassembly of the unit, will expose hazardous-voltage components and allow access to dangerous electric shock potentials. These internal adjustments should be made only by qualified service personnel.
  • Page 13 Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Acknowledge Window Settings In order to accommodate a system with slow dome acknowledgement response times, S5 DIP switch positions 7 and 8 are used to set the time window in which an acknowledgement message is expected (see Table 3).

    Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Connections Interface Connectors Eight 12-pin connectors on the rear of the AD2083-02C Code Distributor panel are used for transmitting and receiving codes with domes and J-boxes. The transmit (T) and receive (R) signal positions are labeled on each connector.

    Model AD2083-02C AD RS-422 Distributor Installation and Operation Instructions Data Line Connectors Two DATA LINE BNC connectors are provided on the rear panel, labeled IN and OUT. The IN is used to receive control codes from the 1995 or the 1996/1024 CPU of the 2050 systems. The OUT is a loop through connection.

    The AD2083-02C also supports alarm contacts. The American Dynamics Start Alarm and Stop Alarm commands are transmitted via the RS232 output port. The alarm contact number is based on the American Dynamics real camera address and the number of alarms per dome selected. When an alarm is received, an internal relay closes and the green alarm LED illuminates.
