    Description of printer The A799II ColorPOS two-color thermal receipt printer is easy to install, use, and maintain. Utilizing CognitiveTPG’s ® Clamshell design, simply snap open the receipt cover and drop the paper roll in place. You never need to change a printer ribbon or cartridge because it uses thermal print technology.

    Load or change the receipt paper Caution: You must use qualified paper rolls with CognitiveTPG printers. The list of qualified paper is in Chapter 5; refer to the website www.CognitiveTPG.com for update to this list. Using unqualified paper may void the warranty.

    Select the printer and the COM port number associated with it. Once the driver has loaded, the printer will be added. Open “Devices and Printers” from the Start Menu and right click the new printer, “CognitiveTPG Receipt.” Choose “Printer Properties” and print a test page.

    Warning: Choose an energy level no higher than necessary to achieve a dark printout.Failure to observe this rule may result in a printer service call or voiding of the printer warranty. Running at a higher energy level will reduce the printhead life. Consult your CognitiveTPG representative or CognitiveTPG technical support if you have any questions.

    The printer is simple and generally trouble-free, however unexpected conditions may arise. Use the charts below to diagnose and solve these printer conditions, or use the interactive tech support tool at www.CognitiveTPG.com. To resolve complex issues, you may need to contact a service representative.
