    Printing from AirPrint Compliant Device This document explains how to use AirPrint to print wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to a Canon printer. AirPrint enables you to print photos, email, Web pages and documents from your Apple device directly to your printer without installing a driver.

    Front View operation panel Use to change the settings of the machine or to operate it. Operation Panel ADF (Auto Document Feeder) Load a document to copy, scan, or fax.     Confirming that the Power Is On The lamp on the mode button or MENU button is lit blue when the machine is turned on. Even if the LCD is off, if any lamp on these buttons is lit, the machine is on. Note It may take a while for the machine to start printing immediately after you turn on the machine.

    Notice for Unplugging the Power Cord To unplug the power cord, follow the procedure below. Important When you unplug the power cord, press the ON button, then confirm that all the lamps on the operation panel are off. Unplugging the power cord before all the lamps on the operation panel are turned off may cause drying or clogging of the print head and print quality may be reduced.

    LCD and Operation Panel You can use the machine to make copies, send/receive faxes, scan originals, or print photos on a USB flash drive without a computer. You can also make good use of the various functions of the machine using the menu screen and the settings screen on the LCD.

    Entering Numbers, Letters, and Symbols The machine allows you to enter characters using the Numeric buttons when entering information, such as unit name, a recipient's name for coded speed dial, etc. Switching the Input Mode The machine has three input modes: lowercase mode, uppercase mode, and numeric mode. You can use the Numeric buttons to enter characters in each input mode.

    Paper Sources to Load Paper The machine has two paper sources for feeding paper, the cassette (upper) and cassette (lower). The paper source used depends on the page size and media type. Media Types You Can Use Note When printing, select the correct page size and media type. If you select the wrong page size or media type, the machine may feed paper from the wrong paper source or may not print with the proper print quality.

    Loading Envelopes You can load European DL and US #10 envelopes. The address is automatically rotated and printed according to the envelope's direction by specifying with the printer driver properly. Important Printing of envelopes from the operation panel or from a digital camera is not supported. Do not use the following envelopes.

    Inserting the USB Flash Drive Printable Image Data This machine accepts images taken with a camera compliant with the Design rule for Camera File system (Exif 2.2/2.21/2.3 compliant), TIFF (Exif 2.2/2.21/2.3 compliant). Other image or movie types such as RAW images cannot be printed. The machine accepts images scanned and saved with the machine when Doc.type is set to Photo and Format is set to JPEG (file extension ".jpg").

  • Page 89 Replacing an Ink Tank When remaining ink cautions or errors occur, the message will appear on the LCD to inform you of the error. Take appropriate action according to the message. If print results become faint or white streaks appear despite sufficient ink levels, see Maintenance Procedure.
