Page 20 Printing from AirPrint Compliant Device This document explains how to use AirPrint to print wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to a Canon printer. AirPrint enables you to print photos, email, Web pages and documents from your Apple device directly to your printer without installing a driver.

Important When you unplug the power cord, press the ON button, then confirm that all the lamps on the operation panel are off. Unplugging the power cord before all the lamps on the operation panel are turned off may cause drying or clogging of the print head and print quality may be reduced.
Page 47 LCD and Operation Panel You can use the machine to make copies, send/receive faxes, scan originals, or print photos on a USB flash drive without a computer. You can also make good use of the various functions of the machine using the menu screen and the settings screen on the LCD.

Page 49 Entering Numbers, Letters, and Symbols The machine allows you to enter characters using the Numeric buttons when entering information, such as unit name, a recipient's name for coded speed dial, etc. Switching the Input Mode The machine has three input modes: lowercase mode, uppercase mode, and numeric mode. You can use the Numeric buttons to enter characters in each input mode.

To insert a character Move the cursor under the character to the right of the insertion position, then enter the character. Media Types You Can Use Note When printing, select the correct page size and media type. If you select the wrong page size or media type, the machine may feed paper from the wrong paper source or may not print with the proper print quality.

Other image or movie types such as RAW images cannot be printed. The machine accepts images scanned and saved with the machine when Doc.type is set to Photo and Format is set to JPEG (file extension ".jpg").

Page 90 Replacing an Ink Tank When remaining ink cautions or errors occur, the message will appear on the LCD to inform you of the error. Take appropriate action according to the message. If print results become faint or white streaks appear despite sufficient ink levels, see Maintenance Procedure.

Do not touch the print head holder until it stops completely. Important Do not touch the metallic parts or other parts inside the machine. If the ink cover is left open for more than 10 minutes, the print head holder moves to the right.
