Checking the Transmission Oil

The transaxle fluid level should be at the bottom of the
level indicator hole (Fig. 4). If it is not, fill the reservoir
with the appropriate fluid; refer to Changing the Transaxle
Fluid, page 28, steps 3 and 4.

Operation

Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine
from the normal operating position.

Controls

Accelerator Pedal
The accelerator pedal (Fig. 5) gives the operator the ability
to vary the engine and ground speed of the vehicle.
Depressing the pedal increases the engine RPM and ground
speed. Releasing the pedal decreases the engine RPM and
ground speed. Maximum forward speed is 18 MPH
(26 km/h).
Brake Pedal
The brake pedal is used to stop or slow the vehicle (Fig. 5).
Brakes can become worn or can be misadjusted
resulting in personal injury.
If brake pedal travels to within 1 in. (25 mm) of
the vehicle floor board, the brakes must be
adjusted or repaired.

1. Accelerator pedal
Parking Brake
The parking brake is between the seats (Fig. 6). Whenever
the engine is shut off, the parking brake must be engaged to
prevent accidental movement of the vehicle. To engage the
parking brake, pull back on the lever. To disengage, push
the lever forward. If the vehicle is parked on a steep grade,
make sure that the parking brake is applied. Place blocks at
the downhill side of the wheels.
