ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be
sure the trigger switch is in the OFF
position. An accidental start-up can
cause injury.
Fitting Sanding Sheets (fi g. B1–B4)
FITTING REGULAR SANDING SHEETS (FIG. B1–B3)
1. Soften the sanding sheet by rubbing its non-
abrasive side over the edge of a worktop.
2. Release both sanding sheet clamp knobs (4).
3. Hold the sanding pad (3) with one hand and
align the dust extraction holes (5).
4. Slide the sanding sheet under the sanding sheet
clamp (4).
5. Engage the corresponding sanding paper clamp
knob (4).
6. Stretch the sanding paper firmly over the
sanding pad (3) and repeat for the other clamp.
FITTING HOOK AND LOOP SANDING SHEETS (FIG. B4)
1. Place the tool on a table, sanding pad (3) up.
2. Place the sanding sheet directly on top of the
sanding pad.
3. Hold the sanding pad (3) with one hand and
align the dust extraction holes (5).
4. Press the sheet firmly onto the sanding pad.
Dust Extraction (fi g. C)
WARNING: Since woodworking with a
sander produces dust, always install a
dustbag designed in compliance with
the applicable directives regarding dust
emission.
WARNING: Do not use a dustbag or
vacuum extractor without proper spark
protection when sanding metal.
The tool is supplied with an adapter for connecting a
dustbag or a vacuum extractor.
1. Fit the dust extraction adaptor (6) onto the
outlet (2) as shown.
2. Attach the dustbag (7) by aligning the open-
ended slots (8) with the notches (9) and fitting
the bag onto the adaptor (6).
3. Turn the assembly clockwise to lock it in
position.

4. Alternatively, connect the tool to a vacuum
extractor using the adaptor (6).

• Make sure all materials to be sanded
are well secured.
• Apply only a gentle pressure to the
workpiece. Excessive pressure does
not improve the sanding effect, but
only results in an increased load on
the machine and causes the abrasive
to tear.
• Avoid overloading.
WARNING: Do not sand magnesium!
Proper Hand Position (fi g. A, D)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS use
proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS hold
securely in anticipation of a sudden
reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main
handle (11), as shown.
Switching On and Off (fi g. A)
To switch the tool on, set the on/off switch to
position I.
To switch the tool off, set the on/off switch to
position O.
Sanding (fi g. A)
1. Start with the coarsest grit size.
2. As the tool produces small scratch marks in all
directions, it is not necessary to sand with the
grain.
3. Check your work at short intervals.
