Destination input
The navigation device does not release you from
your responsibility as a driver for correct and pru-
dent behaviour in traffi c.
DANGER!
Distraction from the traffi c can cause
accidents
Do not operate the device while driving.
View the display only during safe traffi c situa-
tions.
Notes:

Routes are best planned before starting
your trip.

Perform the basic settings fi rst.
Starting the navigation

Touch the symbol in the main
menu.
The map is displayed.
From the map, you can directly change to the
navigation menu or to the map/navigation set-
tings.
Destination input via language
The speech input is possible in the following
languages: German, English, Spanish, Italian,
French, Portuguese and Dutch. The language is
set after the fi rst switch-on. It can be changed in
the map/navigation settings (see the CD/DVD for
a detailed description, extended instructions, ch.
"Working with the map").

Note:
Ensure that no noises in your environment in-
terfere with the speech input, e.g. ventilation
or open windows.

On the map, touch the symbol on the
bottom display bar.
Note:
The symbol is available only if no route guid-
ance is active. During route guidance it is not
displayed.

As soon as the warning beep sounds
and the green light is lit, speak loudly
and clearly.
The following speech inputs are possible:
–
Voice commands for operating the navi-
gation (e.g. "Destination input"). As a
control measure, your entries are always
repeated.
–
"Help": Voice commands are displayed,
read and explained (e.g. "Start Route
Guidance"). Over time, you will become
familiar with the voice commands and do
no longer need any help.
–
"Additional Help": Less commonly used
voice commands are displayed, read and
explained (e.g. "Save destination").
–
"Cancel": Exit speech input
The destination entered is shown on the dis-
play. Your last speech input appears on the
lower display bar.

Touch the symbol on the map.
The Navigation menu is displayed.

In the Navigation menu, touch the
symbol.
The Destination Input menu is dis-
played.
Note:
You can only select places of destination
(countries, cities, streets, house numbers,
points of interest) that are contained in the
map material.
