Safet y Inform a t i o n
This Meter complies with the standards IEC61010 safety
measurement requirement: in pollution degree 2,
overvoltage category (CAT. III 1000V, CAT.IV 600V)
and double insulation.
CAT. III: Distribution level, fixed installation, with smaller
transient overvoltage than CAT. IV
CAT.IV: Primary supply level, overhead lines, cable
systems etc.
Use the Meter only as specified in this operating manual,
otherwise the protection provided by the Meter may be
impaired.
In this manual, a Warning identifies conditions and
actions that may pose hazards to the user, or may
damage the Meter or the equipment under test.
A Note identifies the information that user should pay
attention to.
International electrical symbols used on the Meter and
in this Operating Manual are explained on page 9.
Rules For Safe Opera t i o n
Warnin g
To avoid possibl e elect r i c shoc k or personal injur y,
and to avoid possibl e damag e to the Meter or to the
equip m e n t under test, adher e to the follo w i n g rules:
l Before using the Meter inspe c t the case. Do not
use the Meter if it is damage d or the case (or part
of the case) is remove d. Look for crac k s or missin g
plasti c . Pay atte n t i o n to the insula t i o n around the
conne c t o r s.
l Inspe c t the test leads for damage d insul a t i o n or
expose d meta l. Check the test leads for cont i n u i t y.
Repla ce damag ed test leads wi t h ident i c a l model
number or elec t r i c a l speci f i c a t i o n s before using the
Meter.
l Do not apply more than the rated voltag e, as mark e d
on the Meter, bet w e e n the ter m i n a l s or bet w e e n any
ter m i n a l and groundi ng.
l The rotar y swi t c h should be placed in the right
posi ti o n and no any change o ve r of range shall be
made during measur e m e n t is condu c t e d to preven t
damage of the Meter.
