Long Life Technology
Kyocera's tradition of incorporating long life consumables, industry leading yields and preventive maintenance is truly a great
benefit to the consumer. The simple premise to provide the most reliable products on the market is information that can make the
difference in a competitive situation when marketing these new color printers.
Drum
The FS-C8100DN color laser printers utilize Amorphous Silicon (ASi) Drums for imaging. These ASi Drum are manufactured by
Kyocera, and is one of the most durable surfaces known to the world. By incorporating an ASi Drum, Kyocera can manufacture
a product with astounding drum yields. Both products have a rated yield of 300,000 prints. Based on current competitive models,
the drum yields of these printers offer a significant advantage to the customer.
Toner
Customers with the new FS-C8100DN only replace toner when required, simplifying their interaction with the FS-C8100DN. Toner
replacement is simple and straightforward, with the sealed toner container accessible from the front. The toner container slides
easily in the cavity above the engine, quickly and without mess. The toner container for the FS-C8100DN is exclusive to this model
and cannot be interchanged with our MFP toner for the KM-C3232. The rated yield for black (K) toner is 15,000 impressions and
color (CMY) is 7,000 impressions based on a 5% fill ratio.

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance or PM, is the interval determined for Maintenance Kit replacements and is set to identify when these
replacements are necessary to ensure the device is working up to manufacturer specification. During the PM of the FS-C8100DN,
the maintenance kit is replaced by an Authorized and Certified Service Technician according to service guidelines. During a PM
on these Printers, the only item that is replaced is the maintenance kit, which consists of the drum assembly, developer assembly,
fixing unit, transfer assembly and miscellaneous feed rollers. By providing all of the required parts in one kit, service technicians
can perform a PM very quickly, with the whole PM taking approximately 20-30 minutes. Customers requiring a PM at the
appropriate intervals will be up and running quickly, maximizing uptime. In busy print environments, where every minute counts,
this will be a benefit you will want to convey.
