Remove and Replace the Safety Interlock Switch

The safety interlock switch (215-0024-xx) detects the presence of the lamp door in the top case. When
the lamp door is closed, an actuator closes the switch and allows power supply operation. When the lamp
door is removed, the switch opens and disables the power supply. The safety interlock switch attaches to
the top case and connects to the controller ECA with a short, twisted-pair cable.
1 Remove the top case (see page 13) and lamp door (see page 8).
2 Gently pry the tab on the top case away from the switch. Then lift the switch out from beneath the
mounting lip in the top case.
Assembly Notes

Make sure the switch is properly seated and that the switch arm is in the proper location so that it is
actuated when the lamp door is in place.

Attach the cable to the controller ECA when the top case is replaced.
