Storing Your Honda
5. To prevent rusting in the cylinders, perform the following:
• Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug.
• Remove the spark plug.
Do not connect the spark plug to the spark plug cap.
• Pour a tablespoon (15 – 20 cm
cylinder and cover the spark plug hole with a piece of cloth.
• With the engine stop switch in the RUN (e) position, press the
start button several times to crank the engine and distribute the
oil.
• Reinstall the spark plug and spark plug cap.
6. Remove the battery and charge it fully. Store it in an area
protected from freezing temperatures and direct sunlight. Slow
charge the battery (page 155) once a month.
WARNING
The battery gives off explosive hydrogen gas
during normal operation.
A spark or flame can cause the battery to
explode with enough force to kill or seriously
hurt you.
Wear protective clothing and a face shield, or
have a skilled mechanic do the battery
maintenance.
7. Wash and dry your ATV. Wax all painted surfaces.
8. Lubricate the drive chain (page 150).
