PURGE YOUR UNIT AND INITIALLY LIGHT THE PILOT AND THE MAIN BURNER WITH THE GLASS DOOR OPEN
TEST SOLUTION
- burn a piece of newspaper to establish a draft.
- if the flame is not getting enough air, first make sure the air control
is open. If additional air is needed, open the doors a small crack
only.
- open the by-pass damper

- Chimney height and outside conditions can negatively affect draft.
In these cases a small amount of smoke may enter the home. Add-
ing more pipe or a draft-inducing cap may help.

- make sure the air control is open all the way. Slide the control back
and forth rapidly to insure the control is not stuck.
- close the by-pass damper
- this is normal. The blower will come on when the fireplace is hot -
usually 15 to 30 minutes.
- the air leading into the firebox comes from the exterior. In some
cases this air comes into the firebox and exits up the chimney. This
will not damage the fireplace.
