AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO PARENTS: This manual contains
important information. For your child's safety, it is your responsibility to
review this information with your child and make sure that your child
understands all warnings, cautions, instructions and safety topics. Razor
USA recommends that you periodically review and reinforce the information
in this manual with younger riders and that you are required to inspect and
maintain your child's scooter to insure their safety.
GENERAL WARNING: Scooter riding can be a hazardous activity.
Scooters can and are intended to move and it is therefore possible to get
into dangerous situations and/or lose control and/or fall. If such things
occur you can be seriously injured or die. LIKE ANY OTHER MOVING
PRODUCT, USING A SCOOTER CAN BE A DANGEROUS ACTIVITY AND MAY
RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH EVEN WHEN USED WITH PROPER SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND USE COMMON SENSE.
• Always wear safety equipment such as helmet, knee pads and elbow
pads. Always wear a helmet when riding your scooter and keep the
chinstrap securely buckled.
• Always wear shoes.
• Ride on smooth, paved surfaces away from motor vehicles.
• Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, and sudden surface changes that
may cause scooter to suddenly stop.
• Avoid streets and surfaces with water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, and
other debris. Wet weather impairs traction, braking, and visibility.
• Do not ride at night.
• Brake and cartridge will get hot from continuous use. Do not touch after
using.
• Avoid excessive speed associated with downhill rides.
• Adults must assist children in the initial adjustment procedures to unfold
scooter, adjust handlebar and steering to height, and finally to fold
scooter.
• Obey all local traffic and scootering laws and regulations.
• Watch out for pedestrians.
• Do not exceed 143 pounds (65 kilograms) total weight on the Spark
scooter.
• Rider weight does not necessarily mean a child's size is appropriate to fit
or maintain control of the scooter.
• A parent's decision to allow his or her child to ride this product should be
based on the child's maturity, skill and ability.
• Refer to the section on safety for additional warnings.

ADDITIONAL SPARK SCOOTER WARNINGS:
PARENTS and RIDERS: Make sure riders understand that sparks can start
a fire, and the Spark Scooter must be used with care to avoid accidentally
igniting particularly flammable things.
Toys that make sparks have been around for years, and there are sparking
skateboards and skates in the marketplace - Razor now brings this technology
to the world of scooters! But as with everything else, safety is important and
parents and riders must consider:
• Any scooter should be ridden only on dry, solid surfaces. This helps assure
traction, braking and control when riding
• When riding a Spark Scooter, the importance of dry and clean surfaces
also applies to assure that nothing is on the ground that might accidentally
catch fire based upon even brief exposure to a spark:
• Don't ride in or around dry leaves, grass, weeds or paper
• Don't ride around chemicals, gasoline or fuels, and certainly stay away
from places like gas stations.
• Your Spark Scooter is designed to emit localized, fleeting and ornamental
sparks when the Spark Bar on a moving scooter is put in contact with
hardened outdoor ground surfaces like concrete or asphalt, and it should
NEVER be used to try to start a fire
• And just as obviously, don't ever allow hands, faces or eyes to be on the
ground near the sparks made by a Spark Scooter as it passes by, because
actual sparks are, for their brief existence, HOT and could cause injury if
touched.
• Ride your Spark Scooter on clean, dry, hardened outdoor surfaces
• Observe all other scooter safety recommendations as provided elsewhere
in this Manual
• Keep sparks away from clothing or other flammable materials
AGE RECOMMENDATION: 8+
• Using the Spark Bar involves maintaining the rider's balance and steering
ability while using the back foot to press down on the Spark Bar
• The recommended age for riding a "basic" scooter is 5+, but the added
degree of skill and coordination involved in using the Spark Bar while riding
suggests a higher age recommendation for the Spark Scooter
• Another important function served by recommending a higher age level
is to emphasize the importance of recommending that the Spark Scooter
must be ridden only with a clear understanding of the risks presented by
riding near potentially flammable environments.
• CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION is recommended.
