* If the trouble is not solved at the step 1 and the step 2 or followings (excluding the parameter adjust-
ment) are performed, make sure to perform "Enforced performing of image quality closed-loop con-
trol" and then "Automatic gamma adjustment" after taking a measure.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Check items
Is the main charger output normal?
Is the developer bias proper?
Is the contact between the drum
and developer material proper?
Using the specified developer
material, toner and drum?
Have the developer material and
drum reached their PM life?
Is the storage environment of the
toner cartridge 35oC or less without
dew?
Is the drum cleaned properly?
Is the transfer belt cleaning blade
contacted and released properly?
Is the transfer belt cleaning blade in
proper contact with the transfer
belt?
Is the toner accumulated on the
seals of the developer unit?
Measures
Check the circuits.
Check the circuits.
Check the doctor-to-sleeve gap
and pole position.
Use the specified developer mate-
rial, toner and drum.
Replace the developer material and
drum.
Use the toner cartridge stored in
the environment within specifica-
tion.
Check the drum cleaning blade
pressure.
Check if the spring of the transfer
belt cleaner clutch is removed or if
any connector is disconnected.
Otherwise replace the clutch.
Check if the blade pressure spring
is installed.
Remove the toner and clean the
seals.
