8 Service Mode

8.1. Self-diagnosis functions and remedy/repair methods
8.1.1. U indications "U##"
When the safety function is activated, a buzzer will sound and the error indication "U##" will appear.
Note the U number and remove the U display by pressing the Off/On button. Follow the remedy provided for U factors. If the U fac-
tor still appears after trying the remedy, there is a breakdown and repairs must be carried out as itemized in the B factor procedures,
shown below.

U04 "U04" appears while cook-

"U04" appears when the
"Heat" button of the left/right
IH heater is pressed.
Symptom/state
The thermistor has detected
abnormal
P.C.board A.
Using an incompatible pot.
Fan motor is not turning.
The thermistor (TH3 - TH6)
on P.C.board A has short-
circuited.
Or P.C.board A has a mal-
function.
"Factor" --- U: Using or maintenance
Cause Factor
U Is the intake or exhaust vent
overheating of blocked?
U Is
labeled "usable with IH" ?
* Earthen pots should not
be used even if displayed
for induction heating.
B Wire connections of P.C.
board B and Fan motor.
*E.g.
CN509 on P.C.board B.
Check
stream, motor noise and fan
rotation.
If the fan motor is func-
tional.
* The motor ratings are DC.
20V.
(As an informal checking:
The motor is normal if it
begins to rotate within the
DC volts 6 to 10.)
If P.C.board B is functional. Replace P.C.board A.
B "U04" appears soon after
the heat is turned on.
