Battery status indicator glows red

Battery is not incorporated or defective
If the battery status indicator does not light up, either no battery is installed or there is no contact
between the notebook and the battery.

Check whether the battery is installed correctly in its compartment.

Charge the battery.
If this does not succeed, you must change the battery for a new one. When you dispose of used up
batteries, please observe the safety instructions in the chapter

Error messages on the screen

This section describes the error messages generated by the system BIOS. Error messages
displayed by the operating system or programs are described in the relevant manuals.
CMOS Battery Bad
If the error message occurs repeatedly, then the buffer battery in the notebook is flat.

Connect the notebook via its power adapter to a wall outlet. The buffer battery will take
approximately two days to complete its recharge.
If the error message appears repeatedly, please contact the place of purchase or our customer
service center.
CMOS Checksum Error
The system configuration information is incorrect.

Switch off the notebook.
Ê
Switch the notebook on.

To enter the System Configuration Utility , press [F2]
Ê
Select the Exit menu in the System Configuration Utility .
Ê
Select the Default Setup entry and click on OK.
If the error message appears repeatedly, please contact the place of purchase or our customer
service center.
Insert system diskette and press Enter key to reboot
The operating system cannot be loaded or the hard disk contains no operating system or is not
formatted.
