ENGINE OIL FILTER
Replace the engine oil f ilter e very season or
every o ther oil c hange ifthe tractor isused
more t han 100 hours i none year.
NOTE: Ifneeded, remove lower dash c overs
using s teps from "Lowerdash
cover removal"
section ofthis manual.
AIR FILTER
Your engine will not run properly
using a
dirty air filter. Clean the foam pre-cleaner
after every 25 hours of operation
or every
season.
Service
paper cartridge
every
100 hours of operation
or every season,
whichever
occurs first.
Service
air cleaner more often under dusty
conditions.
1. Remove
cover.

2. Wash it in liquid detergent
and water.
3. Squeeze
it dry in a clean cloth,

clean, absorbent
cloth and squeeze
to
remove excess oil,
NOTE: If very dirty or damaged,
replace
pro-cleaner.

TO SERVICE
CARTRIDGE
1. Clean cartridge
by tapping gently on
flat surface.
If very dirty or damaged,
replace cartridge.
2, Reinstall precleaner
cartridge,
cover
and secure.
IMPORTANT: Petroleum solvents, such
as kerosene, are notto be used to clean
the cartridge. They may cause deteriora-
tion of the cartridge. Do not oil cartridge.
Do not use pressurized air to clean or dry
cartridge.
CLEAN AIR SCREEN
The air screen is over the air intake blower
located on top of engine, The air screen
must be kept free of dirt and chaff to prevent
enqine damagefrom overheating. Clean with
a wire brush or compressed air to remove
dirt and stubborn dried gum fibers.
IN-LINE
FUEL FILTER
The fuel filter should be replaced once each
season.
If fuel filter becomes
clogged,
ob-
structing fuel flow to carburetor, replacement
is required.
1. With engine cool, remove filter and plug
fuel line sections.
2. Place newfuetfilter
in position infuel line
with arrow pointing towards
carburetor.
3. Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and
clamps are properly
positioned.
4. Immediatelywipe
up anyspilledgaso[ine.

and replace
corroded
muffler

spark arrester (if equipped)
as it could create
a fire hazard and/or damage.
