SWINGARM AND BRACE

GENERAL
The swingarm also serves as the oil tank. For information on
the swingarm function as the oil tank, see
SYSTEM.
The swingarm features a removable brace on the right side to
allow drive belt replacement. Sealed bearings eliminate the
need for preload adjustment.
REMOVAL

CAUTION
Before removing swingarm brace, always relieve belt ten-
sion first. Removing swingarm brace without releasing
tension will cause swingarm brace damage.

Remove right side rider footpeg mounts. See
FOOTPEG, HEEL GUARD AND

Loosen rear axle pinch fastener (2).

Loosen rear axle (1) approximately 15 rotations to allow
partial tension to be removed from rear drive system.
