Enhancing the sound with Effects

This instrument features a wide variety of Effects, letting you
add reverb and chorus processing to the selected Voice for
your keyboard performance. Simply changing the Effect
type applied to the preset Voice lets you instantly come up
with different sounds. The instructions below explain how to
set the Effect type and the related parameters applied to the
Preset Voice then store the settings as a User Voice.

Press the [VOICE] button to enter the Voice Play
mode.

Select the Voice for which you wish to change or
edit the Effect.

Press the [F6] Effect button.
The Effect Connect display appears.

Move the cursor to "Insertion A."

In the "Insertion A" box, select the Effect Category
at the left area then select the Effect Type at the
right area.

Press the [SF2] Ins A button to call up the display
which lets you set detailed parameters of the
Effect Type specified in step 5.

Move the cursor to "Preset" then select the
template by using the Data dial.
Each of the templates includes the typical settings of
parameters for the currently selected Effect Type. Try out
several templates so that you can find how each Effect
affects the sound.
Playing the Keyboard in the Voice mode

If desired, set each of the parameters.
Try narrowing in on the desired sound by finely editing the
parameters provided for each Effect Type.
For details about the Effect parameters, refer to the "Basic
Structure" in the Reference Manual.

Storing the edited Voice

After editing the Voice, press the [STORE] button
to call up the Voice Store window.

Set the destination for storing the Voice.
Select the destination User Bank (USR 1 – 4 for the Normal
Voice, UDR for the Drum Voice) and the Voice number to be
stored by using the data dial, [INC/YES] and [DEC/NO]
buttons. You can also use the [USER 1] – [USER 4], [USER
DR], Group [A] – [H], and Number [1] – [16] buttons to
specify the destination.

Press the [ENTER] button. (The display prompts
you for confirmation.)
To cancel the Store operation, press the [DEC/NO] button.

Press the [INC/YES] button to execute the Store
operation.
After the Voice has been stored, a "Completed" message
appears and operation returns to the Voice Play display. In
this condition, the just edited/stored Voice is selected as
shown in the display, letting you instantly play the Voice.
NOTICE
If you are editing a Voice and you select a different Voice without
storing the one being edited, all the edits you've made will be erased.
NOTICE
When you execute the Store operation, the settings for the
destination memory will be overwritten. Important data should always
be saved to a USB storage device connected to the USB TO DEVICE
terminal. For instruction about the Save operation, see page 64.
