Possible cause/consequence
A SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO left in the
vehicle was recognized while trying to lock
the vehicle from the outside.
The KEYLESS-GO system is
malfunctioning.
The SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO must be
replaced.
The SmartKey or SmartKey with KEYLESS-
GO in the starter switch does not belong
to the vehicle.
Possible solution

Take the SmartKey out of the vehicle.

Remove KEYLESS-GO button from the starter
switch (

page 85).
X
Operate the vehicle with the SmartKey in the
starter switch.
X
Contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center
as soon as possible.
X
Remove the SmartKey from the starter switch.
