    MOUNTING 1.1 General Mounting and Handling Considerations • Be sure the power supply matches equipment voltage rating. Improper power supply will damage the equipment. • Locate the transducer where the affects of noise and air bubbles are minimal. Noise and air bubbles will affect performance.

    1.2 Mounting the Hull Unit Location Discussion and agreement are required with the dockyard and ship owner in deciding the loca- tion for the hull unit. When deciding the location, take into account the following points: • Select an area where propeller noise, cruising noise, bubbles and interference from turbu- lence are minimal.

Shorten the tank referring to the table below so the transducer fully protrudes beyond the keel when it is lowered. Refer to pages D-1 to D-6 for details.   • Page 12 3. Remove sheath of transducer cable by the length shown below. Tape the end of the sheath with vinyl tape. Raise/lower shaft length is 1550 mm or more (for 600 stroke): Removal not necessary. Raise/lower shaft length is 1300 mm: Remove by 250 mm.

    3.2 Heading Alignment 1. Locate a target (buoy, etc.) in the bow direction and display it on the screen at a close range.     MODULE CSH-7050 (option) 4.1 Introduction The Interface Module CSH-7050 is required to connect the CSH-7 to eexternal equipment such as a navigator, echo sounder, and it is usually installed in the display unit at the factory. To install it in the field, follow the instructions below. For interconnection, see the interconnection diagram on page S-1.

    4.2 Installation 1. Remove the display unit cover. Cable assy. ITF Board 2. At the left side of the display unit, unfasten the six screws fixing the MAIN Board (10P6835). 3. Fix the ITF Board to the MAIN Board with six sets of spacers and spring washers (supplied) and screws removed at step 2.
