The following table lists symptoms, causes and corrective actions for problems that could occur
while the LBIM is being powered up or during configuration.

Table 5-1. Troubleshooting

Symptom
SVC indicator flashing.
IN MSG and OUT MSG
indicators flashing alternately

When you attempt to download
the configuration .XIF file, the
following message appears:
Error opening network

Corrective Action
Complete the LBIM
configuration. (For configuration
procedures, see Chapter 4.)
Power cycle the LBIM.
Check for overlaps in the network
variable mapping and correct the
mapping if necessary. Download
the configuration again and power
cycle the LBIM.
None. This does not indicate a
problem.
Install network driver.
Change Max_Send_Time to a
larger value for all but critical
variables.
Change backplane
configuration to match that of
the module exactly. Be sure to
account for reserved space and
valid bits.
