Setting Up Input and Output (I/O)

Connecting the Analyzer to a Network Via Ethernet

The Analyzer can be connected to your network or directly to a personal computer via an Ethernet cable. If you
connect the Analyzer to your network, use a standard Ethernet cable. If you connect the Analyzer directly to a
personal computer, use an Ethernet crossover cable.

Configuring the Analyzer's IP Address

You must configure the Analyzer's Internet Protocol (IP) settings for use in connecting the Analyzer to a
computer network or directly to a computer.
To configure the Analyzer's IP Address
1.
Select the I/O tab, and then press the IP Configuration button. The Configuration screen appears.
2.
Press one of the following buttons to configure the Analyzer's IP address.
• Off (default) — Indicates that the Analyzer is not communicating with a network or other computer.
• Automatic — The Analyzer is connected to your network with a standard ethernet cable, and your
network uses a DHCP server to dynamically assign IP addresses.
