to avoid all risks.
Installation
• Place the appliance on a work surface away from water
taps and sinks.
• Check that the voltage of the mains power supply cor-
responds to the value indicated on the appliance rating
plate. Connect the appliance to an efficiently earthed
electrical socket with a minimum rating of 6A only.
The manufacturer declines all liability for any accidents
caused by the absence of an efficient earth system.
• If the power socket does not match the plug on the ap-
pliance, have the socket replaced with a suitable type by a
qualified electrician.
Important: the first time the coffee maker is used,
all the accessories and internal components should be
washed with hot water. Then make and throw away a few
batches of coffee without drinking.
How to make coffee
• Assicurarsi che la caffettiera sia fredda e svitarla tenendo
la caldaia (G) con una mano e con l'altra ruotare la caraffa
(C) in senso antiorario (fig. 1).
• Remove the funnel filter (I) and, to make a full pot of cof-
fee, fill the boiler with cold water up to the top drop
(figs. 2, 3 and 4), without covering the safety valve (visible
inside the boiler).
If you want to make just half a pot, fill the boiler with wa-
ter up to the bottom drop
Please note: we recommend using soft cold water.
Brackish or hard water will weaken the flavour. The coffee
should ideally be up to filter level.
Important: do not use the coffee maker without
water in the boiler. Do not use hot water to speed up coffee
making.
• Insert the funnel filter (I) in the boiler (fig. 5).
To prepare half a pot, insert the adapter disk (H) in the
funnel filter (I). (fig. 6).
• Fill the funnel filter (I) with ground coffee, without pres-
sing down (fig. 7). Fill a little at a time to avoid the ground
coffee overflowing.
• Distribute the ground coffee uniformly and remove any
excess coffee from the edge of the filter.
Please note: Use good quality, medium-ground
coffee, for moka coffee makers.
• Tighten the coffee maker firmly but without exaggera-
(figs. 2, 3 and 4).

ting, holding the boiler with one hand and turning the pot
clockwise with the other, without pushing on the handle.
Danger of burns! To avoid dangerous splashes of
boiling water, never use the coffee maker unless the disk
filter (F) is correctly in position.
• Rest the coffee maker on the base (fig. 8).
Close the lid (A).
• Press the ON/OFF switch (O).
The light in the button shows that the coffee maker is on.
• Coffee delivery will begin after a few minutes.
• At the end of brewing, mix the coffee to make it uniform
then serve.
Keep-warm function
Once you have made the coffee, you can keep it warm for
about 30 minutes by simply leaving it on the base.
To disable the function, press the ON/OFF switch (O).
If you remove the coffee maker from the base, the keep warm
function goes off automatically. Remember that coffee loses
its characteristic aroma when warmed up.

Cleaning and maintenance

Danger of burns! Before cleaning the appliance,
wait until it has cooled down after use.
Danger! Unplug the base (M) from the mains so-
cket before cleaning.
• Check regularly to make sure the coffee slits are not blo-
cked. Clean using a pin (fig. 9).
• Over time, the gasket (E) and funnel (I) become old. When
signs of wear and deterioration become evident, they
must be replaced. Use only gaskets and funnels available
from authorised customer service centres or identical to
the originals provided.
• Every so often check that the holes in the disk filter are not
blocked. If necessary, clean using a pin (fig. 10).
• Do not wash the coffee maker in the dishwasher.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to clean the
boiler G), safety valve (F) and base (M).
Cleaning with a damp cloth is sufficient, making sure wa-
ter does not penetrate the connector.
Danger of burns! When you remove the disk filter
(D) for cleaning or to replace the gasket (E), remember to
replace it correctly before using the coffee maker to avoid
dangerous splashes of hot water.
• Never rinse the boiler (G) under the tap and never immer-
se in water (fig. 11).
