Spark Arrester Maintenance - Honda EX1000 Owner's Manual

SPARK ARRESTER MAINTENANCE
If the generator has been running, the muffler will be very hot. Allow to cool
before proceeding.
The spark arrester must be serviced every 100 hours to keep it functioning as
designed.
1. Remove the two 6 mm bolts and the two 6 mm cap nuts. Remove the cover.

2. Remove the two 6 mm nuts and the 6 mm bolt. Remove the muffler from
the exhaust pipe carefully to avoid damaging the spark arrester screen.
