Working With Labels

Message labels include both labels you create and default labels such as Sent, Starred,
and Outbox. You can organize your emails by labeling them or adding stars to them.
Labels also help you sort your messages, just like folders.
Adding or Changing a Label
1. Open the Gmail app and tap the sender images next to the
messages you want to label.
2. Tap > Change labels.
3. Check or uncheck labels in the new screen and tap OK.
Adding Stars to Messages
1. Open the Gmail app and tap the sender images next to the
messages you want to star.
2. Tap > Add star.
3. To add a star to just one message, tap
Viewing Messages by Label
1. Open the Gmail app and tap
at the top of the screen.
2. Tap a label below All labels to view messages with that label.

Changing Gmail Settings

Opening the Messaging Screen

The Messaging screen opens where you can create a new message, search for messages,
or open an ongoing message thread.

to search for a message using keywords.
• Tap an existing message thread to open the conversation.

Sending a Text Message

1. On the Messaging screen, tap

2. Add recipients in one of the following ways:
• Tap the To field and manually enter the recipient's number or the contact name. If
the phone presents a few suggestions, tap the one you want to add.
• Select recipients from your contacts by tapping
3. Tap the Type message field and enter the content of your text message.
4. If you want to send a multimedia message, tap
to the message.
5. Tap

NOTES:
• You can also include email addresses as recipients for multimedia messages.
• Do not add any attachment if you want to send a text message. Otherwise you may be
charged for a multimedia message.
