SYSTEM CONNECTION DIAGRAM 4:
Two Dominion™ Subwoofers in Stereo
to a Two-Channel Audio System
When connecting two Dominion™
subwoofers in stereo to a two-channel audio
system, you will assign one Dominion™ to
the left channel and the other Dominion™ to
the right channel.
Ideally, you will employ bass
management (crossover) features built
into your preamplifier (if available), or
a dedicated active crossover (like the JL
Audio CR-1) to split the left and right
signals between your subwoofers and main
speaker amplifier. In these scenarios, the
subwoofers will connect to the dedicated
subwoofer outputs of the active crossover
or preamplifier. Connect the left output
of your preamplifier to the "Line Input"
of the Dominion™ designated as the left
subwoofer. Then, connect the right output
of your preamplifier to the "Line Input"
of the Dominion™ designated as the right
subwoofer. Use good-quality audio
interconnect cables with RCA-type
connectors to make these connections.
If you are not using an external active
crossover or bass management built into
your preamplifier, you can simply split
the audio signals at the outputs of your
preamplifier, Y-adaptor cables (splitters).
Then run an audio cable to each subwoofer
from these Y-adaptors. You will only use
one "Line Input" on each Dominion™ (left
or right).
In this scenario, you should engage the
low-pass filter on each Dominion™ to apply
low-pass filtering to the signal feeding each
subwoofer's internal amplifier. The signal
to the main speaker amplifier will remain
full-range.
