Touring your Joybook

Depending on the model of your Joybook, the appearance may be
different from the illustrations shown in this manual.

Internet hotkey
Starts up the Internet Explorer Web browser.
E-mail hotkey
Starts up the Windows Mail e-mail client.
Customizable hotkey 1
Can be customized to open an application.

Power switch with LED
Turns your Joybook on or off.
When the system is on, it lights up in blue.
When the system is in Suspend mode, it lights up in amber.
When the system is in Hibernation mode or powered off, the
light goes off.

Audio input socket
Can be used to connect to a Hi-Fi set, radio, synthesizer, walkman, etc.

Can be used to connect to a microphone for recording sounds.

This socket is for standard analog audio using 3.5mm stereo plugs only.

Earphone/SPDIF audio output socket
Can be used to connect to an earphone/headset or external speaker
for playing Joybook audio.
SPDIF (Sony-Philips Digital Interface Format) is a fibre optic digital
audio outlet for 'Mini Optical' 3.5mm plugs. It shares a common
socket in the Joybook with a standard analog audio outlet for 3.5mm
stereo plugs.
• To activate SPDIF, go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, and select
Sound. Select SPDIF Interface under the Playback tab, click Set Default,
and then click OK.
• Supported digital audio formats: DTS, Dolby Digital, and Microsoft WMA
Pro Audio.
