    2 Installation 2.1. Disassembling cockpit parts: 1) Monitor’s covert trim (models until 2011) Use removal wedge -3409- to prise off cover -1- for MMI screen at corners -arrows- and detach. Unplug electrical connector for warning lamp for airbag deactivated on front passenger side -K145- / hazard warning lights button -E229- and detach cover.
  • Page 7 Remove carefully from the center of the dash vent, located on the cockpit, -1- pulling from both sides with the -3438- removal hook. A hole is provided on both sides of dash panel vent for engaging hook -3438-. Equipment version with light: Unplug electrical connector at dash panel vent.
  • Page 8 Unscrew screws of the monitor -arrow-, monitor with controls for managing the information, in front -J685--1-. Pull up the monitor from the dashboard -2-. Unlock and disconnect the screen connectors. Remove side dash panel cover (passenger side). Open glove box lid and unscrew bolts -arrows-. Detach glove box and pull it out far enough so that you can unplug electrical connector at main connector.

    2.2 Performing the NaviTouch® system installation: Now we are going to prepare the “TOUCH SCREEN” to the original vehicle screen. 1) Unscrew the 4 screws of the screen’s metal frame. Clean the screen with a non-abrasive cleaner and a microfiber cloth, then, immediately place the touch screen panel.

    Multimedia interface DIP switches position: ALL IN OFF POSITION (UP). 2.4 Connecting an aftermarket rearview camera: To connect an aftermarket rear view camera (not genuine), you must connect the rear gear bulb signal to the multimedia interface “CAM-DET” connection. Attention; new Audi cars model year from 2011 to nowadays, rear light signal needs to install a relay to filter signal pulses.
