Draining the Fuel Tank and Carburetor
1. Unscrew the fuel filler cap (see page 41), remove the fuel filter, and
empty the fuel tank into an approved gasoline container. We
recommend using a commercially available gasoline hand pump to
empty the tank. Do not use an electric pump. Reinstall the fuel filter
and the fuel filler cap.
2. Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance
cover (see page 43).
3. Loosen the carburetor drain screw, and drain the gasoline from the
carburetor into a suitable container.
4. Remove the spark plug maintenance cover and the spark plug cap
(see page 50).
5. Turn the engine switch to the ON position (see page 24).
6. Pull the starter grip (see page 25) 3 to 4 times to drain the gasoline
from the fuel pump into a suitable container.
7. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
8. Tighten the carburetor drain screw.
Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive.
You can be burned or seriously
injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat,
sparks, and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
