3. Click ‘Next‟ to install the software into the default destination. To install to a different folder click ‘Change’ and select a destination folder. 4. Starting a Data Session 1. Insert the CDU-685A modem into the USB port. Double-click the “CMO Connection ® Manager(CDU-685A)” Connection Manager (CM) Software icon on your Windows desktop to launch the software. The display on will show ‘Disconnected‟ to start a data session. The CM Window will display ‘Verifying User‟.

3. Once connection is established, the CM Window will display ‘Connected‟. If data transfer is active, the circulating arrows in the display will be illuminated. The modem will enter the dormant mode to conserve power if the modem is in idle for some time. Note : If Windows XP service pack 2 is installed in your computer, you must disable the firewall in Window Security Center.
Setup for Mac Users Insert your CDU-685A USB modem into any available USB port, and wait for the USB device icon to appear on your desktop. Click on the icon to open the USB storage, and select the Mac (Macintosh) directory. Activating CDU-685A USB Modem After successful software Installation and reboot, the Mac will now be able to detect the modem. When detected, the modem icon will be displayed on the taskbar at the upper right corner of your monitor. The Automatic Activation Wizard will initiate activation of the modem.

If this is the first time you have inserted the modem into that USB slot or you used other USB slots before this, your device will have to be confirmed and configured. You only need to click the Continue button to proceed on the above window pop-up, and enter your Mac password when asked.

check “Show status when connecting”. When service is established, the dots will turn solid indicating a data session is in service. To have your connection time displayed on the menu bar icon, go under and check “Show time connected”. Ending a Data Session To end the data session, click the Signal icon then select Disconnect.
