SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension
cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
2
If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter-
top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
NOTICE:
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a
safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

Digital Shade control buttons fail to light when handle is depressed, but elements heat up for about one minute. Handle releases automatically and three lights come on. Toaster then behaves normally with shade control and all other functions working OK. After sitting until cool down, shade control lights go out again and must repeat sequence above to get toaster working again. ( Cuisinart Electronic Toaster, Model CPT- 60)

Possible causes for the digital shade control buttons failing to light on the Cuisinart CPT-60 Custom Control Total Touch toaster when the handle is depressed include:

1. Power Issue – Ensure the toaster is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
2. Unplugged or Reset Condition – If the toaster was recently unplugged, it may have reset, requiring a new shade selection.
3. Faulty Connection – Check if the power cord is securely connected.
4. Internal Malfunction – The electronic controls may be faulty or require servicing.
5. Button or Circuit Issue – A defect in the touchpad or internal circuits may prevent the lights from functioning.

If troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, the toaster may need repair or replacement.
