Operating considerations

2.6.1 Using the thermal isolation container

After making all connections, place the preamplifier mod-
ule in the thermal isolation container, as shown in Figure
2-9. Route the connecting wires through the slits in each
end of the container, then cover the preamplifier with the
lid. Allow the preamplifier to thermally stabilize for at
least one hour to achieve rated accuracy.

2.6.2 Minimum operating distance

The Model 1801 preamplifier module should be kept a
minimum of two feet away from the Model 2001 Multi-
meter and other instrumentation to avoid noise pickup due
to stray magnetic fields.
