" In-call functions
During a call, press © and then ~
(Options) for the following functions
(some of them are network services) :
MutelUnmute, Holdl Unhold, Send
DTMF New call, Answer, Reject,
Swop, End active call, End all calls,
Phone book Send.
Swap switches between the active
call and the call on hold .
If you selected Send DTMF key in a
DTMFstring and press ~(OK).
" Listening to voice
messages
In standby mode, press and hold
to call your voice mailbox . You can
obtain the voice mailbox number
from your service provider.
" Locking the keypad
The keypad lock prevents keys from
being accidentally pressed when, for
example, the phone is in your pocket
or handbag.
To turn the lock on or off: In standby
mode, press (~ and then
quickly.
When the keypad is locked :
The indicator -0 is shown.
You can answer, end or reject a
call in the normal way. During a
call, you can operate the phone as
usual .

" Storing a phone number
In standby mode, press ~ (Menu)
(Phone book is displayed) and then
~(Select) . Scroll to Add nameand
press 0 (Select) . Key in the desired
name (see "Writing text" on page 9)
and press ~-=) (OK) . Key in the area
code and phone number, and press
~(OK) .
Quick save : In standby mode, key in
the phone number. Press O or O

Basic functions
" To insert a special character:
Press and hold (~), scroll to
the desired character, and
press <~) (Use).
" To insert a number, press and
hold the desired number key.
If the displayed word is the one
that you want, press
0
and
start writing the next word .
If you want to change the word,
press ~repeatedly until the
desired word appears .
If the ? character is shown after
the word, you can add the word in
the dictionary : Press 0(Spell),
key in the word using traditional
text input, and press ~ (OK) .
If the text Options is shown above
D, you can access the following
options by pressing this key:
Matches : Shows a list of words
that correspond to your
keypresses . Scroll to the desired
word and press 0 (Use).
Insert word : Allows you to add a
word to the dictionary manually .
Write the word using traditional
text input and press Q~) (OK) .
Insert number : Allows you to key
in numbers by pressing each
number key once .
Insert symbol : Allows you to
select a special character from a
list . Scroll to the desired character
(such as %) and press 0(Use) .
