Heat Considerations
SDJ is one cool operator. Look Ma. NO fans! Heat is electronics biggest
enemy and fans kill your sound quality. That is why your SDJ system is
designed to run fan-less at 60-85

C. A dual-core SDJ system runs at
around 65

C on a cool day (up to 80

F). On an extremely hot day, you
may want to remove the rear cover. Normally with the back panel of the
slant top rack case is kept ON for protection.
The maximum temperature for an SDJ system is 125

C. That is a full 25

more than the 100

C maximum operating temperature for typical
systems using noisy case and CPU fans.
Your SDJ system ships with a real-time temperature and performance
monitoring utility from Arthur Liberman. If you want to keep an eye on
things, run it from Setup mode. This handy utility includes an alarm and
many other features. Not all processors are supported. It is provided
free of charge with a link to Arthur's web site, http://www.alcpu.com.
