This prevents the image from being erased accidentally.

Select [Protect].
Under the [[Ell tab, select [Protect],
then press

An image will appear.
Image protect
Select the image.

Press the

key t9 select the
image to be erase-protected.
You can also select an image on the
index display.
Protect the image.
When you press <8>, <§:j> will
appear at the bottom of the screen
and the image will be erase-
protected.
To cancel the image protection, press
<8> again. The <§:j> icon will
disappear.
To protect another image, repeat
steps 2 and 3.

To exit the image protection, press
the <
MENU>
button. The menu will
reappear.

Once an image is protected, it cannot be erased by the camera's erase
function.
To
erase a protected image, you must first cancel the erase
protection.
·tt• . ·.Ifyou erase all the. images (p.123), only the protected images will
remain.. This is convenient when you want to erase unnecessary images
allatonce.
