    Looper cover/ Waste container Looper Cover Push the looper cover fully to the right and then swivel it down. Waste Container Insert the upper latch of the waste container into the upper slot of the looper cover. Apply pressure to the lower part of the container until the lower latches fick into place in the lower slots of the looper cover.

    Telescopic thread guide/ Foam pads/ Cone holders / Thread net/ Thread unreeling disc Telescopic Thread Guide Pull the telescopic thread guide upwards to its highest position. To ensure optimum thread feed, turn the telescopic parts slowly until you hear the locking balls fick into place.

    Needle position The offers a choice of 5 needle positions. You can sew with as many as 3 needles simultaneously. The needle positions are L1, L2, L3, R1 and R2. A retaining screw is provided above each needle. Please Note: If the needles are inserted at R1 and R2, the left needle is slightly higher than the right.

    Changing a needle Turn off at the power switch To remove: Lower the presser foot and raise the needle(s) to its/their highest position. Take the needle changing tool out of the accessory box and push it up over the needle as far as it will go. Loosen (but do not remove) the needle s retaining screw with the allen key and pull the needle out from below.

    Connecting the machine to the power source Caution: Always make sure that the machine is unplugged from power source and the main switch is on "O" when the machine is not in use and before inserting or removing parts. Connecting the machine Before connecting the power supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency shown on the machine is conforming with your electrical power.

    Starting sewing With the sewing machine turned off, insert the foot control plug into its connector on the sewing machine. Turn on the sewing machine, and then slowly depress the foot control to start sewing. Release the foot control to stop the sewing machine. Foot control Attention: Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt as how to connect the machine to the power source.

    Threading the thread guides Place the spools on the spool pins. For notes on the spool net, the thread run-off disc, the foam pads and the cone holders. Thread the threads from the back to the front through the thread guides as indicated by the codes.

    Threading the needles Thread the thread in order from 1 to 10. The thread must pass through the lower slot in thread guide 6. Pull the thread about 10 cm (4 inches) through the eye of the needle and place it facing to the left under the presser foot.

    Threading the needles Important note on threading The needles must always be threaded last so that the needle threads do not run under the looper thread as seen in drawing 1, but instead over the looper thread as depicted in drawing 2. Should this sequence not be followed, thread breakage or missed stitches can occur.

    Disengage the upper looper You can disengage the upper overedge looper with the upper looper disconnection lever. Remove the trim catcher and open the front cover. Turn the hand wheel to bring the looper to its lowest position. Press the upper looper disconnection lever down and push it to the left.

    Adjusting the stitch length/ Differential feed Turn the regulator wheel for differential feed to select the stitch length shown on the display panel by setting the number to the setting mark.
