Using the Fryer

Cooking With the Fryer
Cooking with the fryer is a two part process.
First the tank must be filled with the correct amount of oil and be preheated to the correct
temperature. Only when this process is complete should you proceed to the cooking stage.
1: Fill the tank with oil
At the rear of the oil tank there are two marks.
Pour in sufficient oil to reach the MAX mark.
Do not overfill.
The capacity of the tank is 2.5 litres - 1.8 litres is
needed to cover the MIN mark. There should
always be enough oil in the tank to cover the MIN mark.
Corn oil, sunflower oil, ground nut oil and vegetable oil are all suitable for use with the fryer.
You may use solid vegetable fat but this is much more difficult to handle. Solid fat should be
melted in a separate pan before transferring it to the tank.
Do not use margarine, butter or olive oil. Do not mix different oils and fats.
Lightly smear the viewing window with a little clean oil. This will prevent it from getting
fogged by condensation and allow you to view the food while it cooks.
2: Place the frying basket in the Frying position and close the lid.
3: Plug the fryer into the mains point and switch on the power at the mains.
The POWER light will come on showing the fryer is operational.
4: Set the correct oil temperature for the food.
The Temperature Control is cali-
brated in Degrees Celsius (Centigrade).
Use it in conjunction with your recipe to
set the oil temperature. The frying guide
at the rear of this manual will help you.

5: Preheat The Oil - Do not omit this process!
After 5 -7 minutes the oil will be at the correct temperature and the READY light will come on.
6: Fill the basket with food
When the oil is at the correct temperature:
Open the fryer lid, lift the
basket up and hook it over
the front of the oil tank.
Place the food to be cooked
(which should be as dry as
possible) in the basket. Do
not overfill the basket.
Always have the basket in
the raised position when
filling it.
7: Lower the filled basket into the oil and close the lid.
Ensure the slots in the lid fit snugly
over the handle.
