Unpacking
In the box you should find: The deep fryer ; Frying basket with detachable handle. If any
items are missing or damaged, contact your nearest Tesco store for assistance.
Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it do so in accordance with any recycling regulations
in your area.
Positioning the Deep Fryer
Site your Deep Fryer on a firm, flat, heat-resistant work surface. Steam given off by the
cooking process may mark or damage anything above or around the fryer; keep these areas
clear. In order to avoid any fire hazards keep areas above and around the fryer clear. Leave a
clear space all round the fryer, and keep it away from the front edge of the work surface .
Unwrap the power cord. Place the fryer near a wall socket. Do not put the fryer or the power
cord close to any cooking or heating appliance.
Preparation:
Before using your fryer for the first time wash the appliance.
1: Remove the frying basket, handle and the fryer lid.
Press the lid release button. The lid is spring
loaded and opens automatically. With the lid
fully open, hold the lid at both sides and ease
the lid off the spring catch with a slight rocking
motion.
2: Remove the grease trap cover and filter.
Grip the catch on the grease trap
cover between thumb and
forefinger. Press the catch down
and lift out the lid.
Remove the white grease filter
and keep it safe.

Before You Start Cooking
Wash the fryer lid, the grease trap lid the basket and the handle by hand in warm soapy
water. Rinse and allow to dry.
Pour warm soapy water into the oil tank and wash it with a damp cloth. Rinse with fresh hot
water and dry well.
Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do NOT immerse the body of the fryer
in water.
3: Dry all the fryer components
4: Replace the grease filter and the grease trap cover.
5: Replace the fryer lid:
Stand in front of the appliance. Hold the lid at
the sides and place the lid spring in the metal
catch at the rear of the unit. Press evenly down
and the lid will click into place. Check that the
lid opens and shuts freely.
6: Attach the Basket Handle:
Hook the basket over the top of the fryer.
Squeeze the wires at the base of the handle and
position them behind the channels in the guide
plate. This is essential to avoid the basket
tipping.
Insert the ends into the loops in the guides
Release the wires; they will spring into place.
The basket and handle should be firmly attached and not loose or insecure.
7: Place the basket in the fryer:
Ensure the basket is fully inside the fryer well.
