    ETTING TARTED Installing the battery Your Kyocera KX9a phone comes with a removable lithium ion (LiIon) battery. charge the battery before using the phone. To install the battery: Hold the phone face down. Toward the bottom of the phone there is a recess to aid you in opening the battery door.

    Understanding screen icons These icons may appear on your phone’s home screen. The phone is operating in IS2000 (1X) digital mode. The phone is operating in IS95 digital mode. The phone is receiving a signal. You can make and receive calls. Fewer bars indicate a weaker signal.
