We have just bought a house with Fisher and Paykel appliances.
The oven is a BI452 but no manual supplied. Is there a switch for the light? The online manual does not indicate how it is controlled.
Also the door is not closing fully. We have taken it off and replaced to but it still sits out. We have ordered a new seal as the current one is damaged but suspect it will take more than this to solve the problem

On the Fisher & Paykel BI452 oven, the oven cavity light is controlled by the oven door. The light automatically turns on when the door is opened and turns off when the door is closed.
If the oven door is not closing fully, possible causes include: - Obstruction: There may be food debris or an object preventing the door from closing. - Misaligned door: The door hinges or alignment may be damaged or out of place. - Faulty door seal: A worn or damaged door seal can prevent proper closure. - Hinge issues: Worn or broken hinges can stop the door from closing completely.
Inspect the door for obstructions, check the seal and hinges, and ensure the door is aligned properly.

To replace the oven light in a Fisher & Paykel Astro B1452R, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power: Disconnect the oven from the power supply to ensure safety.
2. Access the light cover: Open the oven door. Locate the light cover inside the oven cavity, usually at the back or side wall.
3. Remove the light cover: - If the cover is a glass dome, twist it counterclockwise to remove it. - If it is secured with screws, use a screwdriver to remove them.
4. Remove the old bulb: Gently unscrew the old light bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
5. Install the new bulb: - Use a replacement bulb that matches the specifications (typically a heat-resistant, appliance-rated bulb). - Screw the new bulb in by turning it clockwise, ensuring it is secure but not overtightened.
6. Reattach the light cover: - Replace the glass cover by screwing it back on. - If screws were used, reattach them securely.
7. Restore power: Reconnect the oven to the power supply and test the new light.
Note: Make sure the new bulb is suitable for high-temperature environments and the correct wattage.
