Introduction
Each Scrambler UHF is factory programmed to provide discreet private two-way
voice contact. All outgoing transmissions are digitally encrypted and scrambled to
prevent eavesdropping. In addition, CTCSS frequency guard protects the receive cir-
cuit by blocking outside interference. Combined, these features ensure that commu-
nications remain completely private.

Operation
1. Slide battery onto the back of the transceiver until the latch at the bottom clicks, then follow
the charging procedure before operation.
2. The Power switch / volume control knob (B) turns the transceiver on and off and also sets the
incoming sound level. Turn the power switch / volume control clockwise to turn the transceiver
on.
3. Set the operating channel via the Channel Selector (A). Rotate the Channel Knob
setting it to the desired channel. Channel numbers are printed on the radio. The radio features
an audible channel announcement and will tell the user the channel selected.
4. Before making a call, monitor the channel to make sure that no one is using the
frequency (optional). To monitor the channel depress and hold the monitor button (I).

5. To make a call press and hold the PTT key (G) on the side of the radio and speak
into the microphone. The LED indicator (C) will flash red confirming transmission.
6. For best voice translation speak directly into the microphone (F) using normal
voice levels. Release the PTT key when you are finished speaking.
7. Incoming messages are received through the built in speaker (E). Adjust the
speaker sound level by rotating the volume control knob as follows: clockwise:
higher, counter-clockwise: lower. Incoming messages are confirmed by green flash-
ing light on LED indicator.
8. The headset jack (D) allows addition of audio accessories including speaker micro-
phone and lightweight and heavy-duty headsets.
Using Your Headsets
Our headsets include special noise cancelling
microphones. For optimum performance adjust microphone
boom so the element is directly in front of, and approxi-
mately 1 - 2" from the user's mouth.
Battery Care
STOP!
DO NOT DRAIN BATTERY!
The rechargeable battery included with the Scrambler will
not develop a memory. Therefore there is no need to pur-
posely run down the battery power after each use.
Repeated draining will shorten the battery life expectancy and may also result in
loss of factory programming in the corresponding radio.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
Double audio beep every 5 seconds indicates low battery power.
Turn radio off immediately and replace or recharge battery.
Battery Charging
The rechargeable battery included with the Scrambler will not develop a memory.
Always store your radios turned OFF between games with any remaining power and
then recharge fully before the next use.
1. Plug the AC adapter cable into the jack located on the rear of desktop charger base.
2. Slide the transceiver and battery pack into the charger.
3. Plug adapter into AC outlet.
4. Make sure the battery pack contacts are touching the terminals.
5. LED indications: RED: charging, GREEN: full charge.
6. Remove the transceiver from charging base when charging is completed.
